About BKIT

Established in September 1982 in Bhalki, Bidar district — at the northern tip of Karnataka — BKIT has grown into one of the region's most trusted engineering institutions.

OUR STORY1982 → TODAY

From Rural Engineering College to BKIT.

Founded as Rural Engineering College, Bhalki in September 1982, the institute was later renamed after its founding force, Bheemanna Khandre. It carries the complete character of a regional engineering college: roughly half its students come from Karnataka, and the other half from states across India — Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, UP, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Manipur, West Bengal, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.

The institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, affiliated to VTU, Belagavi and sanctioned by the Government of Karnataka. Its courses are accredited by NBA, and the institution holds a NAAC B++ grade along with accreditation from the Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata.
